On Thursday, December 24, 2009, Nellie Lorinda Korff, 64, of Mancelona, passed away at Otsego Memorial Hospital. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband David J. Polasky, her mother Esther Keskine, her father Richard Korff and younger brother Richard R. Korff. Nellie is survived by one sister Christine (Charles) McIntire and sons Larry, Leslie, and Gregory, two brothers Robert Korff and children Robert, Richard, William and Pamela; Philip (Maryanne) Korff and children Philip, Mathew, Melissa, and Jennifer. She is also survived by her children David Polasky of Pennsylvania and Stephanie Wells and her children Craig (Eva) Wells, Jennifer (Devin) Melvig, Nellie Wells and her son David R. Polasky, Brendan M.D. Polasky all of Mancelona. Nellie was an artistic person that loved to write and draw books for those she loved. Nellie was an avid reader, and listened to a wide variety of music. She enjoyed the theater, and taking nature walks. Nellie was very involved in her grandchildren's lives, enjoying the family moments and laughter while passing on family history and stories of her youth. Nellie was extremely family oriented, a loyal friend. When asked to describe Nellie her friends and family would say that Nellie was full of life, charismatic, fun, dedicated, loyal. A memorial service for Nellie will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Three p.m. at the Mancelona Church of the Nazarene where she was a member. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Stephanie Wells Estate Expenses, PO BOX 795, Traverse City, Michigan, 49685.
