Natalie "Nan" Crawford 78. Of Bellaire, died Wed. Aug. 26, 2009 at Tendercare Birchwood in Traverse City. Nan was born Oct. 19, 1930 in Detroit, the daughter of Milton and Elfrieda (Schultz) Semrau. She was a 1948 graduate of Bellaire High School and followed her love of music to the Bay View Institute in Petoskey. She became an accomplished organist and pianist teaching hundreds of area students over a span of 60 years. A member of the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church she was the organist for over 23 years. Nan was instrumental in several Antrim County school solo ensembles. She was a previous member of the Eastern Star and the Bellaire Literary Club. On April 30, 1949 in Bellaire, she married Jack Crawford who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Jack (Rebecca) of Traverse City, Michael of Bellaire, Daniel (Debra) of Traverse City, Timothy (Sherry) of Caledonia, two sisters Mary Lou (Loren) Drury of Wooster, OH, Sylvia (Sam) Lewis of Bellaire, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Kathleen and a brother Milton Douglas Semrau. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009 at One p.m. at the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church with Harry T. Cook II officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will be in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Twp.
