Nataleigh Rose Musser, age 22, passed away unexpectedly on January 29, 2016.
Born March 3, 1993, Nataleigh was the daughter of Duane and Cathy Musser of Charlevoix. At a young age, Cathy taught Nataleigh to ride horses, and Nataleigh became an accomplished barrel rider who often beat riders twice her age. Her ribbons, trophies, and medals cover the walls in her parents' home. Nataleigh loved animals and found peace in being outdoors.
Nataleigh was a gifted musician who could play any instrument she picked up, and she was proud to be the drum major of the Charlevoix High School Marching Band. She was also a talented artist whose art continues to hang in the library at North Central Michigan College, where she studied architectural design.
Beyond her many achievements, Nataleigh was a bright, cheerful person who always had a smile on her face. She overcame challenges with an upbeat attitude, was generous even when she had little to give, and was a fiercely loyal friend. Nataleigh had a free spirit, a strong will, a quick wit, and a heart of gold. Her friends describe her as "the kind of person you'd fall in love with the second you met her." Nataleigh lived every day of her life to the fullest with a wisdom beyond her years.
Nataleigh's greatest joy was her one-year-old son, Noah Kristopher Sladick, and Nataleigh was proud to be his mommy.
Nataleigh is survived by her son, Noah; fiance, Peter Sladick; parents, Cathy and Duane Musser; two sisters, Carrie and Brittany Musser; three brothers, Jeffrey and Brian Musser and Joseph Eickenroth; grandparents, Dale and Iris Musser of Central Lake and Robert Donaldson of Winter Haven, Florida.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Karen Donaldson, in December 2015.
Memorial service will be 1 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2016, at the old Charlevoix Middle School Gym, 108 East Garfield, Charlevoix, MI 49720. Pastor Philip Green of the Charlevoix Bible Baptist Church will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family for Noah's care: https://www.gofundme.com/47m8jud8
Nataleigh will forever be loved and held in our hearts.
The Musser family flowers are being arranged with Petals in Charlevoix, and they ask that if you plan to order flowers, you consider ordering from Petals. The Musser family wants to thank Petals for their generosity.
