Nannette Tripp Kemnitz, 84, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011 at her Bellaire, MI home. Nannette was born November 26, 1926 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of George and Susan (Lamb) Cherryman. A member of St. Luke Catholic Church she has resided in Bellaire for the past six years moving from Vero Beach, FL. Nannette was a journalist for the Villages Daily Sun and President of the Mellon Patch Play House while residing in Leesburg, FL, and was a member of the Elks Lodge in Traverse City, MI. She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Louis Kemnitz. Also surviving is her daughter, Pamela S. (Frank) Whynot of Bellaire; her niece, Deborah (Tim) Holmes of Kenwood, CA.; great nephews, Tyson and Travis Berg, Santa Rosa, CA; great niece, Alexandria Rose Holmes, Kenwood, CA; her step son, Dr. Keith A. (Shelley) Kemnitz of Burnsville, MN, grandchildren, Deborah (Dr. David) May of Bellaire, Michael (Christina) Conklin of Snoqualmie, WA., great grandchildren Colin and Spencer May, Ryan and Matthew Conklin. Two step grand children, Jeffrey (Marin) Kemnitz of Wayzata MN, and Cara Kemnitz of Burnsville, MN. She was preceded in death by her first husband George Tripp in 1998 whom she married in 1945. She was also preceded by her parents and her two sisters, Patricia DeGroot and Lenabell "Cherry" Carpenter. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, in Bellaire with Rev. James K. Gardiner as celebrant. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 5 to 7 p..m. with a rosary at 7p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Catholic Church, P.O. Box 799 Bellaire, Michigan 49615-0799, or Hospice of Northwest Michigan 220 W. Garfield, Charlevoix, Michigan 49720.
