Nancy Myers

Nancy Ann Myers, 82, passed away on Thursday April 23, 2020 at Boulder Park Terrace in Charlevoix.  She was born on June 22, 1937 in Bellaire, MI, the daughter of Stephen and Fern (Steiner) Shippy.

Nancy raised her three children in Bellaire, and babysat for many years while they were in school.  She then went on to work as a nurse’s aide at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire for over 20 years.  You never had to guess what Nancy was thinking, because she was sure to tell you.  She had a quick wit, a strong will, and an incredible sense of humor.  She thoroughly enjoyed swimming, sunbathing, and dancing in her younger days.  She also liked to garden and watch the birds.

Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie (Lyle) Bishop of Onaway and Georgiana (Tom) Minton of NC; her brother, Joe (Barb) Shippy of Bellaire; 8 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Fern Shippy; her daughter, Margie Petro; and her brother, John Shippy.

Nancy was a lover of all animals, and the family would ask that memorial contributions be made to the Antrim County Humane Society, 4660 M-88, Bellaire, MI 49615.

A private interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Bellaire, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
