Muriel McClelland

Muriel Jean McClelland, 78, of Bellaire, passed away December 17, 2011 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Muriel was born February 23, 1933 in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, to John and Mable (Gilchrist) Dickson. Muriel and her husband Bob, who met in Bellaire in 1941 were members at Church in the Hills for 11 years. Muriel was very active in the church. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and most of all spending time with her family and her special grandchildren. She loved all animals and especially her puppies, Midnight and Ranza. On June 27, 1953, in Ferndale, Michigan, she married Robert "Bob" McClelland. She attended Stephens College in Missouri and was Vice President of her class and was also known as "Dickie Dickson" and graduated with honors in radio and broadcasting. She is survived by her husband Bob; four children, Robert (Laura) McClelland of Colorado, Ian (Katie) McClelland of Clarkston, MI., Nancy Jill (Bill) Babb of Flagstaff, AZ., and Susan (Mel) Hall of Salt Lake City, UT; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one brother, George (Sandra) Dickson of Georgia; his two daughters, Donna and Dawn. She was loved by anyone who met her and her kind spirit and beautiful smile will forever live in Heaven. Memorial services will be held at Church in the Hills in Bellaire on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 1 p.m. with Rev Duane Ferris officiating along with her son, Pastor Bob McClelland.
