Monna Mae Kiel

Kalkaska – Monna Mae Kiel of Kalkaska died Peacefully Nov. 21, 2020, with family by her side.

She was born Nov. 27th, 1939 to Floyd & Nelly Hamilton, she spent most her life in Kalkaska, she married Darrell (Stub) Kiel on Aug. 16th, 1958 and  together they raised 5 boys; Brad (Annette) Kiel, Hal (Tammie) Kiel, Darrel (Judy) Kiel, Ricky Kiel, Jody Kiel.  2 Granddaughters Ashley and Madison, 1 Grandson Darrel, and 4 great grandchildren.

Monna worked many years at the Kalkaska Memorial Hospital while raising her family, she loved to cook and you new you would never walk away from the table hungry or have an empty refrigerator.  She enjoyed holidays and family get togethers.

She is survived by her sister Yvonne (Virgil) Peck, her 4 sons and grandchildren, she was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Darrell (Stub) Kiel, an infant son, and son Ricky Kiel.

The family would like to Thank the Dialysis Unit at Kalkaska Memorial for taking such great care of her the past year during her visits and the Hospice House in her final days.

Per Monna’s request a private graveside service was held on Nov. 27th 2020 at the Coldsprings Township Cemetery with the Mortensen Funeral Home officiating.
