Milton Grimes, Sr

Milton H. Grimes, Sr., 83, of Mancelona, MI, formerly of Haddon Heights and then Southampton, NJ, went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2013. He was born September 4, 1930 in Camden, NJ, the son of Howard and Grace Grimes. Milton proudly served his country in the United States Airforce from 1951 to 1955. He worked at Mobil Research and Development, City Service Gas Station, and Moorestown Hardware. Milt is remembered for his involvement in the community and church, always with a cheerful and giving heart. A friend summed up Milt's life: Sometimes a person comes your way and you know that God sent them to you. They might not be an angel, but a special one who impacts your life in so many ways. Milt Grimes was just that kind of man. His love of God was a wonder to behold. His sense of humor endeared him to many. His example will be one that helps me to be a better believer and a better man. Heaven is a better place today, my friend ~ Chuck Swanson. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane as they just celebrated 60 years of marriage. Also surviving are three children: Milton H. Jr. (Theresa) Grimes of Atco, NJ, Elaine (Dominic) Aceto of Bellmawr, NJ, and Dan (Alice) Grimes of Mancelona, MI; two siblings: Howard Grimes of Milton, FL and Grace Alderman of Clayton, NJ; eleven grandchildren: Kathryn, Milton, Kristin, Daniel II, Jessica, Benjamin, Alli, Philip, Amanda, Scott and Samantha; four great-grandchildren: Audrey, Daniel III, L.J., and Susan; and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 5:30 for visitation, service at 6 pm with refreshments to follow at Fellowship Community Church, 1520 Hainesport Road, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cedar Bend Farm, 1171 Doerr Road, Mancelona MI 49659 or to Fellowship Community Church, 1520 Hainesport Road, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054.
