Michael Mahan

Michael L. Mahan, 70, of Bellaire, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.

Mike was born March 26, 1943 in Traverse City, the son of Harold and Gertrude Mahan.

Mike was a partner in All Seasons Realty in Bellaire for several years. Prior to that he sold insurance for Prudential. He was a lifelong resident of Bellaire where he and Sue raised their family. Mikes greatest moments in his life were his marriage and the birth of his children and grandchildren. He was very proud of his family. Mike loved his Irish heritage and enjoyed the trips he and Sue made to Ireland. He always thought that he might run into stray relatives as he traveled around the home of his ancestors. Mike was a great animal lover. He never met a dog he didn't love, especially his own.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Sue (Petrie); two children, Michael Mahan and Mikki (Matthew) Pyne all of Bellaire; one brother, Terry (Nancy) Mahan of Sugarland, TX; five loving grandchildren, Samantha, Joshua, Bryce, Britney and Emmaly. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until the service begins at 2 p.m. also at the funeral home.
