Michael Knudsen

Michael S. Knudsen, 18, of Mancelona, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 15, 2011. Michael was born on July 29, 1993 in Traverse City, MI., the son of Marty Knudsen and Tina Tokar. Michael has resided in Mancelona for many years. He attended Mancelona High School and would have proudly graduated in the spring of 2012. He attended Mancelona Baptist Church and enjoyed being involved in the youth group. He loved hunting, swimming, camping, canoeing, working on cars and most of all his family. Michael is survived by his father, Marty Knudsen and step-mother Patty of Mancelona; mother, Tina Tokar and her Finace' Jerry Millard of Buckley; five siblings, Breona Knudsen of Traverse City, Dakota Tokar of Buckley, Damian Tokar of Buckley, Mercedes Knudsen of Mancelona and Daniel Birgy of Traverse City; maternal grandparents, Ruthann Haase and Robert Appel; paternal grandparents, Frank Knudsen and Caroline Winters, Mike and Midge Osborne; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed. Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Knudsen. A celebration service of Michael's life will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mancelona High School Gymnasium with Pastor Dave McCarthy officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the Mancelona High School. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. The burial will be held on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Thompsonville Cemetery in Thompsonville, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Michael's family (Tina M.
