Melvin Straight

Melvin Roy Straight, 63, of Mancelona, passed away November 5, 2012 at his home. Melvin was born October 11, 1949 in Chipley, Florida, the son of Wesley and Rose Straight. Melvin graduated from Mancelona High School in 1968. Soon after graduating, he started his career with the Antrim County Road Commission and retired with 37 years of service. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He is survived by three sons, Rick Straight of Manton, Jason (Annie) Straight and Gary Straight all of Cadillac; two step-daughters, Sandy Winn and Kim Corey; 6 grandchildren, Samantha, Skyler, C.J., K.C., Zack and Brooke. He will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes for a Celebration of Melvins Life.
