Melvin Meadows, Sr

Melvin A. Meadows, Sr., 77, of Mancelona, passed away August 22, 2012 at Munson Hospice House. He was born December 10, 1934 in Mancelona, the son of Grover and Ione Meadows. Melvin attended church at the Antrim Church of Christ and worked at Dura Automotive for 43 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He lived in Mancelona his entire life. He is survived by seven children, Melvin Meadows Jr., Michael (Candy) Meadows, Steve (Verna) Meadows, Marvin Meadows, Randy Meadows Dean (Lisa) Meadows and Miklo Meadows; one brother, John Meadows; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dina Marie; and two brothers, James and Grover Meadows. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 12 Noon at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Per Melvins wishes, he will be cremated following the services and interred with his wife at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 W.
