Maxine Bruce

Maxine Amanda Bruce age 99, of Bellaire, went to be with the Lord Wednesday February 1, 2017 at The Heritage Haus in Bellaire. Maxine was born on November 3, 1917, in Forest Home Twp., the daughter of Pearl and Nellie M. (Utter) Bruce. It is at the Bruce Homestead on Clam Lake where Maxine lived most of her life. After returning home to care for her parents she took employment with Dr. Glenny and Dr. Bills. She then worked for Antrim County Extension, where she retired in 1973 after sixteen years of service. Maxine's love for the Lord was made evident through her dedication to the Bellaire Wesleyan Church. It was there that you would see her teaching a Sunday School Class, and playing piano for Worship. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings, Irene Armstrong Bruce, Rev. Ila (Rev. Howard Benneth) Bruce, Rev. George LeRoy (Bernice) Bruce, Eugene Bruce, Walter (Lois) Bruce and Georgia (Quiggle) Bruce. She is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at The Bellaire Wesleyan Church with Pastor Chris Wallace officiating. Visitation will take place from 10-11 on Saturday also at the church. Interment will take place in the spring in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire. The family wishes to thank the Heritage Haus for their exceptional and loving caregiving.
