Mary Louise Bugajski aged 91 passed away to be with our Lord, Jesus, on June 25, 2021. Her devotion to Christ and our Blessed Mother was passionate and deep. She was a loving wife to Joseph Alexander, a good mom to Kathleen, Joseph, Patricia, Mark, Daniel and Paul. She was grandma to JJ, Justin, Nick, Gabe, CJ, Mike, Matt, Maria, Annabella, Dan, Katie and Gracie. She was great grandma to Theo and Sarah. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joseph Alexander, and her son, Mark.

Louise was a charitable and devout Catholic at St. Suzanne Parish in Detroit for 30 years and St. Luke Parish in Bellaire for 41 years. She was an associate member of The Holy Cross Sisters. She loved to care for her flowers, but loved to care for those who needed it even more. She cared for her husband Joe, her son Mark and dear friend Mary Kay as they took their journey to heaven. She cared deeply for her many friends of whom she asked nothing more than friendship. Finally, and always, she was a woman of extraordinary beauty, not only in her person and her gardens, but in the gorgeous wedding dresses that she created for those who asked it of her.

Louise’s lifelong dream was to find her birthparents and genealogy recently helped her to find them. Her birth parents were Joseph and Grace (Luzader) Devoy who have three surviving nieces, Debra, Diane and Diedre. Louise even had the blessing of a visit from Debra and Diane before she died.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 6, between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. We will pray the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Louise’s funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, Bellaire, Michigan.  The family will receive visitors after 10 a.m. until Mass begins. Louise will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire following mass.

Please do not send flowers. In lieu them, please donate to Munson Healthcare Hospice, St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, or the Baby Pantry of Antrim County.
