Mary Ellen Hoye-Kranz

Mary Ellen Hoye-Kranz, 91, of Bellaire, formerly of Howell, passed away on December 24, 2017 at Munson Medical Center.

Mary Ellen was born on December 11, 1926, in Detroit, the daughter of William and Katherine (Schutz) Ryan.

She was a devout catholic with a strong faith.  She was a school teacher for many years at St. Joseph Catholic School in Howell before retiring in the early 90’s.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed art.

Surviving are 5 children, James (Brenda) Hoye of British Columbia, CA, Bill (Pamela) Hoye of Howell, MI, Marty (Amanda) Hoye of WA, Kelly (Jeff) Killian of Bellaire, Tom Kranz of Tampa, Fla, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, a sister, Catherine (Tim) Pickett of Bloomfield Hills, MI, son-in-law Mel (Charlotte) Barnes of TX as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband James Hoye, second husband Robert Kranz, a daughter Mary Pat Barnes, a son Mark Hoye, two step-sons, Robert and Kevin Kranz and her parents.

A funeral mass and burial will be held at a later date in Howell, MI.  A mass of intention at St. Luke Catholic Church will be held Thurs. Jan. 4, 2017 at 11 a.m.
