Mary Smith

MARY T. SMITH 99, of Alden, died on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. Mary was born on January 4, 1908 in Pathfork, KY., the daughter of James and Katie Howard. She was a resident of Alden most of her life, was a lifelong member of the Alden United Methodist Church, was active in the Antrim County Commission on Aging, taught vacation Bible School, Sunday school and 4H sewing. Mary loved life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by a daughter Katherine (Gary) Grenier of Brooksville, Fla., a sister America Helton of Lexington, KY., three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her first husband Ray C. Todd, her second husband "Dick" Clifford Smith, many siblings and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2007, One p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Chuck Williams officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, July 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Helena Township Cemetery in Alden.
