Mary Ann Jacobitz September 30, 1921 - September 16, 2008

Mary Ann Jacobitz, 86, of Charlevoix, formerly of Torch Lake, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Charlevoix Area Hospital. Mary Ann was born September 30, 1921, the daughter of Abraham and Esther VanStrien. On July 25, 1942 she married Harvey Jacobitz who preceded her in death this past March. Harvey and Mary Ann have three children, Michael (Pauleve Benio) of Adrian, Janet (Robert) Person of Ellsworth, Mark (Jonnie) of Muskegon and grandchildren Melissa Kincaid, Danny Person, and Esther, Michael, Jennifer and Jon Mark Jacobitz

Mary Ann was a member of the Eastport Baptist Church where she was an Awana leader and she had served as a volunteer with the Torch Area Ambulance Service. She also volunteered at the Charlevoix Area Hospital. She enjoyed crafts, swimming, beach combing and being with her family.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Jerry Troyer officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Atwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charlevoix Senior Citizens Center, 06906 Norwood Rd., Charlevoix, MI 49720.
