Mary Lynn Anderson, 42, of Traverse City, died Monday, May 2, 2011, peacefully at her cousin Theresa Shananaquet's home in Kewadin. She was born December 2, 1968, in Traverse City, the daughter of Albert and Shirley (Wilson) Anderson. She grew up in Orlando, FL and moved back to northern Michigan in 1999 to be closer to her biological family. Mary Lynn was a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians. She enjoyed cooking, and had a great sense of humor. She loved to make people laugh. Mary Lynn also enjoyed basketball and even played in college. She leaves behind her four son's whom she deeply loved and cared for Brandon Anderson of Traverse City, Dwaun Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, and Dakota Agosa all of Suttons Bay, her brothers Albert (Cookie) Anderson Jr. of Rochester, NY, Ronald (Nicole) Anderson of Suttons Bay, her fiancAC. Daniel Grubbs of Traverse City, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, her brother David Anderson and her foster mother Catherine P. Cadogan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at the Kewadin Indian Mission Church with Rev. Tom John officiating. The family will receive friends starting tonight at 6 p.m. and continuing until the time of service also at the church. Burial will follow in Indian Mission Cemetery, Kewadin. Memorials may be directed to her children's college education fund. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements have been handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
