Martha G. Dingman, 94, of Central Lake passed away May 24, 2014 in Raleigh, NC. She was born October 29, 1919 in Leisersdorf, Germany, the daughter of Fritz and Anna (Villmow) Bedewitz. Martha moved to the United States with her family at the age of four in 1923. She resided in Central Lake from 1946 until 1987 when she moved to Bellaire. Martha was a member of Order of the Eastern Star for many years. She was part owner of Dingmans Food Markets and did various jobs while owning them. She enjoyed sewing for her family, square dancing, shuffle boarding, and she owned and operated the Knit and Sew shop in Bellaire for several years. She is survived by three children, Karl (Kathleen) Dingman of Bellaire, Linda (Wayne) Shooks of Central Lake and John (Catherine) Dingman of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Dorothy Julien of Grand Rapids and Hilda Markham of Lowell; eight grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. On April 2, 1939 in Brighton, MI she married Glen Dingman who preceded her in death in 1992. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Eric and Herbert Bedewitz and her parents. Funeral Services celebrating Martha's Life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of services. The burial will follow at Dunsmore Cemetery, Echo Twp.
