Marquita Bowen

Marquita L. Bowen,  85, of Mancelona, passed away on April 21, 2019 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.  She was born on June 28, 1933 in Star Township, the daughter of Erford and Iola (Park) Rusnell.

Marquita was a school teacher and middle school counselor for the Bridgeport Public Schools for 35 years.  Following retirement she returned to Antrim County.

She enjoyed traveling, animals, singing and playing the piano.

Marquita is survived by three children, Lisa (Greg) Schoeberlein of Macomb Township, MI, Bruce (Ann) Bowen of Mancelona, David Bowen of Mancelona, three grandchildren, Kyle Schoeberlein, Charlene Bowen and William (Alisa) Bowen, two great-grandchildren, Adelyn and Brielle Bowen and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Bowen, two brothers, Gary and Larry Rusnell as well as her parents.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mancelona  Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7 p.m., also at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Star Township Cemetery in Alba.
