Marland Lamoreaux

Marland A. Lamoreaux, 78, of Central Lake, went home to be with Jesus, on November 8, 2015 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility with his wife Carol, daughter Kathy, and son-in-law Ron, holding his hands. Marland was born on September 23, 1937, in Banks Township, MI, the son of Raymond and Hazel (Arnold) Lamoreaux. He was a lifelong resident of the Central Lake area and attended the Eastport Baptist Church. Marland worked at Gulf and Western in East Jordan for many years as well as owning and operating a sanitation company in Eastport. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, David, Heather, Erin, and Curtis. He also enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and farming. On August 28, 1965, in Eastport, he married Carol (Fettig) Lamoreaux who survives. Also surviving are a daughter Kathryn (Ronald) Eberline of Commerce Township, MI, Chris Lamoreaux of Albany, NY, four grandchildren, David, Heather, Erin and Curtis, two brothers, John (Lynn) Lamoreaux of Charlevoix, Richard (Rita) Lamoreaux of Eastport, two sisters, Linda (Gary) McDaniel of Elk Rapids, Janet Johnson of Central Lake, a sister-in-law Lois Lamoreaux of Elk Rapids as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Hazel, his son Steve, and his brother Russell. Funeral services will be held Sat. Nov. 14, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Russell Tharp officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. until the time of service.
