Mark John Bugajski of Bellaire, died Fri., Nov. 4, 2016, at Hospice House in Traverse City, after a two year battle with cancer. Mark was born in Detroit, on Oct. 23, 1956 to Joseph Alexander (deceased) and Mary Louise (Siatkowski) Bugajski. He was the fourth of six children. Mark lived and worked in Traverse City for 20 years. He was a brilliant salesman, entrepreneur and inventor. Mark worked for Meijer and then Munson Hospital. Mark loved life. When young, he excelled in football at Bishop Borgess H.S. and skied with the University of Michigan, Dearborn, Ski Club. Mark's adventurous spirit was infectious: helicopter skiing in Banff, stunt skiing at Sugarloaf and boating on Lake Bellaire. Mark's passion was caring for others. As such, he devoted himself to support of his mother while he also led and sponsored AA members, volunteered for the Baby Pantry of Antrim County and always came to the aid of those who asked him. Even Mark's business was born of caring for others: he invented and sold a colostomy bag cleaning tool. Mark wore his emotions on his sleeve: when happy, he jumped for joy; when cross, you knew why. Mark was funny and tough. His Steve Martin impressions brought tears of joy. His fight with cancer brought tears of admiration. He persevered despite lung and bone pain to celebrate his 60th birthday only two weeks ago. Mark is survived by his mother, Mary Louise Bugajski of Bellaire; his brothers, Joe (Janet) Bugajski of Santa Clara, CA, Dan Bugajski of Detroit, and Paul (Lisa) Bugajski of Comstock Park, his sisters Kathy (Eric) Swanson of Howell and Patty Schneider of Beverly Hills, MI and many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellaire, Fri., Nov. 11, at 1 PM with Fr. Chet Collins officiating. Visitation will be held Thur. Nov. 10, from 4 to 7 PM. with a Vigil service at 7 PM. Interment will be Mon., Nov. 14 at Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire. Due to allergies, the family requests NO FLOWERS, instead having donations made to Antrim Baby Pantry c/o Joann Kotwick, 2025 Intermediate Lake Rd, Central Lake, MI 49622, Munson Hospice, 324 Meadows Drive, Grayling, MI 49738, or St. Luke Catholic Church, Po Box 799, Bellaire, MI 49615. Mark will now rest in God's eternal peace and we will dearly miss him. Arrangements have been handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
