Marjorie J. Warner, 95, lifelong resident of Charlevoix passed away on June 11, 2017 at Georgia House in Charlevoix.

Marjorie was born on December 7, 1921 in Charlevoix to the late Clyde and Vera (Vance) Smith. She was a member of the Charlevoix United Methodist Church, the Charlevoix Ladies VFW Auxiliary and Barnard Grange. Marjorie was employed at the Charlevoix County Jail as a cook for many years.  She loved to entertain people and was known for her Minnie Pearl skit.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Robert (Julie) Warner of Surfside Beach, SC and adopted daughter “Peanut” of Charlevoix 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harley Warner, daughter, Dawn LaJoie, sons, Paxton Warner and Stanley Warner, granddaughter Julie Norris along with siblings, Dorothy Stoel, Carlton Smith, Clayton Smith, Mary Warner, Helen Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Charlevoix burial with Pastor Craig Pahl officiating will follow in Barnard Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Charlevoix Public Library or Hospice of Northwest Michigan.
