Marjorie A. Disbrow, 90, of Central Lake, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Charlevoix Area Hospital. She was born October 13, 1919 in Central Lake, the daughter of Frank and Blanche (Dawson) Blakely. Marjorie spent most of her life in Central Lake. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and traveling. She also enjoyed sewing and made her own clothes for years. Marjorie was a member of the First Congregational Church in Central Lake and attended the women's bible study, weekly. She also attended the Senior Center dinners for years. Marjorie is survived by her children Margo Lynn Ward of Bellaire, and Carla (Larry) Youmans of Central Lake, grandchildren Mark Wilson, Liana Wilson, Bob Youmans, Kim Emmer, Dena Parker, and Tracee Goebel, 8 great grandchildren, sister Luella Howell of Bingham, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Lloyd Ward in 1967, her second husband Leon Disbrow in 1981, son Larry Ward in 1987, daughter Sandra Ward in 1991, and brothers Thiel, Homer and Alton Blakely. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Eleven a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor David Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Southern Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, November 16, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. also at the funeral home.
