Marilyn Ann “Muggs” (Johnson) Udell passed away March 26th, 2019 while surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her husband Leroy, four children- Jean (Jim) Lazar, Frank (Vicki) Udell, Sue (Lee) Malone, Jim (Stacy) Udell, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The daughter of Carroll and Ruth Johnson, she was born in Mancelona on April 21st, 1931. She graduated from Mancelona High School in 1949 and married her husband Leroy on February 14th, 1950.
Muggs was the third generation to live on the family farm where most of her life was spent. Besides being a homemaker she worked many years processing turkeys at Biehl’s Turkey Farm and also volunteered during Custer Township voting.
She was a simple woman who loved her family, gardening, the Tigers and any sports team her children or grand children played on. She was also a great cook and her canned dill pickles are famous among her family and friends. Muggs was a joker with a sarcastic sense of humor that loved to laugh. Her smile and caring, easy-going spirit will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held later this spring.
Arrangements have been handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign her online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com.
