Marilyn Tomlinson

Marilyn J. Tomlinson, 77, of Eastport, passed away Sun. Aug. 10, 2014 at Eastport Village Care Home. She was born Mar. 23, 1937, in Hancock, the daughter of Jacob and Agnes (Hendrickson) Peterson. Marilyn received her teaching degree from the University of Michigan and was an avid fan of Wolverine football. She was also a Red Wings fan but enjoyed watching all sports. Marilyn sang in her church choirs, in Grand Blanc and Central Lake and she also liked traveling to Florida. Raising her family and spending time with them brought her the most joy. On Aug. 24, 1957 she married James "Larry" Tomlinson, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was grandson Bobby Markham, her parents, and 9 siblings. Surviving Marilyn are her children Jim Tomlinson, Mary Markham, Bob Tomlinson, Sue (Steve) Goslee, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sat. Aug. 16, at 1 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Gary Bekkering officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Torch Lake Twp. The family will receive friends Fri. Aug. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Sat. from 11 am until the time of the service, all at the funeral home.
