Marilyn Ann Henderson

Marilyn A. Henderson, age 93, of Bellaire, MI passed away peacefully on May 5, 2023 with her two daughters by her side.  She was born on April 13, 1930 in Rochester, IN and considered herself a true “Hoosier.”

She is survived in death by her daughters Tami (Darrin) Hoffman and Lisa (John) Maznio; and her Granddaughter Jacqueline Maznio.

Preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Dillard Henderson, her parents Hugh and Geneva Hunneshagen, her brother Hugh Hunneshagen JR, and her sisters Marcia Taylor and Roberta Friedland.

Marilyn spent most of her adult life in Oakland County Michigan and graduated from Walsh College in Troy, MI with a Bachelorette Degree in Finance and went on to work in that field retiring from Oakland County and then from the City of Birmingham as an Administrator.

Marilyn was passionate about architecture, working for an architecture firm in her early career and went on to build her first home with her husband in the Mid-Century Modern style.  She also loved to decorate her home with mid-century modern furniture and décor.

Marilyn had many passions in life.  She was always stylish and well groomed.  Her love of fashion could be seen in the clothes she loved sewing for herself and her family.  She also loved flower arranging, wreath making and genealogy.  She was the first woman in the Lion’s Club of Birmingham, MI and was an active participant for many years.

Marilyn had a love of travel, traveling with her family and children across America when her children were growing up and then with her husband all across the world.  The pair visited Germany, Paris, France, Australia, New Zealand, and many more places.

Marilyn’s family has chosen to celebrate her life privately and she will be laid to rest with her husband at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
