Marie Patton

Marie E. Patton, 90, of Mancelona, passed away on January 17, 2017 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Marie was born on February 28, 1926, in Kalkaska County, MI, the daughter of Joseph and Cora (Justice) Montgomery. Marie worked at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire as an activities director for 27 years before retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Antrim Church of Christ in Mancelona and enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, fishing, crocheting, knitting as well spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by a son Larry Patton of Boyne City, four grandsons, Scott Patton (Renee) of Boyne City, Dustin (Jill) Patton of Boyne City, Brandon (Monica) Patton of Grand Rapids, James (Amy) Berkley of Grand Rapids, a granddaughter, Jody Verburg of Grand Rapids, 7 great-grandsons, Chase, Braden, Kasen, Dominic, Tyler, Jayce, Bradley, 7 great-granddaughters, Adonae, Meckenzie, Danielle, Keirstan, Mindi, Amy and Amaya as well as a great-great-grandson Kayden. She was preceded in death by her husband Bud Patton, son Jerry Patton, a grandson Jason Verburg, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and her parents. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Mark McCool officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 6-8 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the spring in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona. Memorial contributions may be made to Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility or to the Antrim Church of Christ. Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
