Marian Sterner

Marian J. Sterner, 57, of Bellaire, died Fri. Dec. 24, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 27, 1953 in Bellaire the daughter of Lionel and Donna (Robinson) Moran. Marian graduated from Bellaire High School in 1971 and from Central Michigan University in 1975 with a degree in Social Work. She worked for the Department of Human Services as an eligibility specialist in Suttons Bay, Grand Rapids, Lansing and Bellaire. She recently retired in Nov. 2010. Marian enjoyed quilting, sewing and knitting. She also enjoyed outdoor activities. On Sept. 17, 1983, in Traverse City, she married John R. Sterner, Jr. who survives. Also surviving are her children Lisa Ann Sterner, Rebecca Sue Sterner, Kimberly Faye Sterner and Michelle Lynne Sterner all of Bellaire, her parents, her siblings Ralph (Marlene) Moran of Bellaire, Peggy (Robert) Riedhart of Huntington, IN, Junie (Gary) Hoag of Lindale, TX, Patricia (William) Drollinger of Bellaire and many nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Mon. Dec. 27, at Eleven a.m. the Central Lake Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Russell Tharp officiating. The family will receive friends Sun. Dec. 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will be this spring in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire.
