June 22, 1925 Marian (Scholl) Schepperley became the youngest of ten childern born to Conrad and Martha (Makel) Scholl. Marian died peacefully in Meadow Brook Care Facility April 19, 2017. Marian, a 1944 graduate of Mancelona High School was working in Flint, Michigan when she received a phone call to come home, as her father had passed away March 28, 1945. Harry Schepperley was in love with this attractive red headed gal named Marian and was hoping they'd marry before he left for his military duty in the Philippines. It wasn't the best time to propose marriage but he did, and they were married on June 27, 1945. Marian did full time babysitting, caring for Bob and Marion Parish's three children. she worked for about two weeks at a factory called Parts Manufacturing, at which time Harry returned home and so she quit her job. Marian and Harry lived with her Mother until they all moved into the new house they built themselves eight years later. Marian had a natural gift caring for those sick. Marian's mother received the best of care and love she ever could have had until she died in their home Sept. 24, 1966. She took care of her mother's sister, Anna Schroeder for the next 5 years until Marian was diagnosed with Lupus and it became too much for her to care for Anna. During all the care giving, being a wife and mother she also had a part time job for seventeen years cleaning the offices at Mt. Clemens Metal Products in Mancelona. She was a member of the Missionary Church (now the Pathway Community Church). Prayer and her faith in God gave her the strength for her busy schedule. Known as the best cook around Marian could whip up a great meal in minutes. Coffee pot was always on and good homemade cookies or cinnamon rolls were always on hand for your enjoyment, no matter when you dropped in. Marian enjoyed camping and loved fishing and even caught a few good ones too. Years ago she and her Mother-in-law were known to go ice fishing while Buster (Harry) and his dad were working. Marian was a wonderful women and her friends, grandchildren, nieces and nephews will feel the void of her absence and influence in their lives. Mom was the best mom ever and the three of us and our spouses are gonna miss her so mucha" Daughters Gloria Davis (Walt), Barbara Dollaway (Kelly) and son Terry Schepperley (Lisa LaBaeu). It is sad to know that some of the great grandchildren and the great greats will never actually know their great grandma Marian or great grandpa Buster. They will hear all of those wonderful storiesa"those true and exaggerated about these remarkable people. Marian was preceded in death by her mother and father and her beloved husband, Harry Schepperley. Her sisters and their spouses, Emma Francis (Charlie), Ruth Pettifor (Art), Minnie Derror (Carl), brothers and their spousesDanny and Gladys, Fred and Emma, Ed and Lenora, Gordon and Jenny and brothers Robert and George. In lieu of flowers we ask donations be made to Meadow Brook Care Facility in memory of Marian Schepperley. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
