Margot Lucille Kane, 87, of Charlevoix, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 23, 1937, in St. Louis, MI, the daughter of Royal and Margaret (Birmingham) Lewis.
Margot will be remembered by many for her kind heart and her cheerful personality. She was constantly taking care of other people and always had a bit of wise advice to share with others. She adored her family and cherished any time spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, knitting dish clothes, and playing cards. She was a long-time member of the Charlevoix Community Church of God and belonged to the local bunko club for many years.
On August 27, 1955, in Charlevoix, Margot married the love of her life, Herbert Kane, who survives. Also surviving are her four children, Susan Kane of Port Charlotte, FL, Barbie (Randy) Schnackenberg of Charlevoix, Rick (Marlene) Kane of Laingsburg, Mi, and Milo Kane of Charlevoix; six grandchildren, Aaron (Liz) Schnackenberg, Emma Kane, Hannah Kane, Jessica (Ryan) Galbraith, Abigail Kane, and Caitlyn Kane; and two great-grandchildren, Henry and Nolan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles Bauer, Larry Lewis, and Clyde Lewis; and three sisters, Linda Hall, Kay Maranette, and Carol Cronkite.
Margot will be laid to rest in Brookside Cemetery in Charlevoix.
