Margery LaVanway

Margery E. LaVanway, 83, of Jordan Township, passed away on October 16, 2014 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Margery was born on December 9, 1930, in Bellevue, MI, the daughter of Dennis and Martha (Nelson) Tobey. Margery was a lifelong resident of Antrim County and enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening and watching soap operas. She is survived by 6 children, Ken (Jan) LaVanway of East Jordan, Kathryn (Bill) Nancarrow of Mancelona, Barb Webster of Mancelona, Tony LaVanway of East Jordan, Linda Lavanway of East Jordan and Susan LaVanway of Fife Lake. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald LaVanway, 2 sisters, Gwen Washburn, Wanita Woodworth, brother Wayne Tobey, step-father Rex Tobey, son-in-law Larry Webster, sister-in-law Thelma Tobey as well as her parents. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment in Dunsmore Cemetery, Echo Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
