Margaret "Peggy" Cutting

Margaret “Peggy” Cutting, 86 of Kewadin, died Sat. Dec. 2, 2017 at Charlevoix Area Hospital.

She was born Aug. 26, 1931 in Tulsa, OK, the daughter of Hugh and Lou (Riddle) Corrough.

On June 1, 1957 in Albuquerque, NM she married Robert P. Cutting.  Together they made their life in Ann Arbor, MI.  Upon retiring in 1988 they moved north to Torch Lake, to enjoy all the beauty it had to offer.  Peggy enjoyed playing mahjong with her friends.  She also enjoyed doing crosswords, cross stitch, and knitting.   Peggy was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Elk Rapids and volunteered with their Stephen Ministries.

Surviving Peggy are her children Bill (Caroline) Cutting of Kewadin, Susie Cutting Arhangelos of Saline, sister Elizabeth “Bink” Nelson of Las Cruces, NM, grandchildren Timothy Arhangelos, Bobby Cutting and Bink Cutting, brother in-law David Pottenger, niece and nephew Dave, Susan, and Andrew Pottenger. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, her nephew Tom Nelson and sister in-law Nancy Pottenger.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Rev. Sandra Murray officiating.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Lakeview Cemetery, Torch Lake Township.
