Margaret Root

Margaret J. Root, 71, of Mancelona, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at Munson Medical Center. Margaret was born March 5, 1941 in Bellaire, the daughter of Willis and Margaret Gould. She is survived by four children Penny (Dave) Johnson of Mancelona, Willis (Alice) Root of Mancelona, Emerson Root Jr and his Fiance Lisa of Alaska, and Lorrie Porter of Alaska; brother Herb Moir; many grandchildren, great grand-children, nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Emerson Root Sr; daughter Katherine Allen; two granddaughters Talitha and Emily Root; sister Maude Meyers; and a brother Milton Gould. A graveside service at Chapman Cemetery in Custer Township will be Monday, August 27, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. The family will receive friends also on Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at The Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
