Marc C. Woltzen, 62, died at home on Nov. 11, 2012. He was born May 17, 1950, in Peoria Il. to Marcia (Thummel) and Herschel Woltzen, (Chesterfield, MO). He received a doctorate of Psychology from Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Marc spent many years helping people in his profession and was very passionate about his job. He was most proud of creating and implementing two communities based outpatient crisis centers for substance abuse programs. Surviving Marc is his very special, best friend, Patricia Greiner. His three children, Heidi (Tim) Larsen - Bloomington IL, Lisa (William) Bednar- Antioch IL, Marc (Kathleen) Woltzen - Antioch IL. Marc was proud of his five grandchildren, Raphael & Alivia Larsen, William & Charles Bednar, and Benjamin Woltzen. Also surviving are three siblings, Lawrence (Joyce) Woltzen, Christy (Hank) Ehrenreich, Sean Woltzen and his stepmother Sigrid Woltzen. Marc was preceded in death by his father, Herschel Woltzen. Marc loved to hunt and fish. With Patty at his side they spent many hours tracking the big bucks and fishing. They especially loved fishing and hunting together in the UP and fishing at Dog Lake, Canada. Marc was a Vietnam Vet, and he volunteered at Horses for Vets, at Charity Hill Ranch in Rapid City. A memorial service will be Tuesday, Nov 20th at Torch Lake Twp Hall, from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be directed to Charity Hill Ranch, 5629 Way Road, Rapid City, MI 49676.
