Mabel “Sue” Bernecker, age 80 of Mancelona passed away on August 31, 2018 at Union Court Assisted Living in St. Charles, MI.
Sue was born on March 13, 1938 in Detroit to the late Graham and Sally (Zimostrad) Secord.
She worked for many years as a line supervisor for AC Spark Plugs.
Sue was a very active member of the Pathway Community Church. She spent many years teaching Sunday school and helping with Vacation Bible School. Sue spent her free time volunteering for many different organizations around the community including many kids clubs.
She took great pleasure in painting especially all of the coffee cans that were delivered by her friends, canning, sewing and doing many crafts.
In 1964 Sue married Frederick Bernecker who survives. She is also survived by her children, Su-Ann Gramling of St. Charles, Bob (Sherri) Sutherby of Tennessee, Russ (Sherry) Sutherby of Mancelona, Robin (Jeff) Babinger of Montrose, Billie (Jim) Sherriff of Mancelona; sister, Billie Schlegel-Tremblay; along with many cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Guy Bernecker and sister Sally Fisher.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pathway Community Church in Mancelona with Pastor Daniel Grimes officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
