M. ELLA PLICHTA, 85, of Petoskey, formerly of Bellaire, passed away on October 22, 2012 at Sunnybank in Petoskey. Ella was born on November 14, 1926, in Northeast, Maryland, the daughter of John and Laura (Chandley) Wigton. Ella had lived in Farmington for 28 years before moving to Bellaire upon her retirement. She had resided in Bellaire for 30 years until moving to Petoskey 4 years ago. She was employed by Bell Telephone, Farmington Public Schools as well as Garden Food Service. She enjoyed Sewing, Bowling and golfing and was a long time member of Hope Lutheran Church in Bellaire and was a member of the Ladies Guild. In 1945, during World War II, she married Robert R. Plichta who survives. Also surviving are two children, Laura (Russ) Raiff of Elkhart, IN., a son John (Nancy) Plichta of Petoskey, MI., a sister Mildred Ammons of TN., 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will take place on Friday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Bellaire with Pastor Wade Seaver officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes and again Friday from 10 a.m. until Noon at the funeral home, and 12:15 until the time of service at the church. A chapel service will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia on Saturday, October 27 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church.
