Lynda Lee Schrock

Lynda Lee Schrock, 83, passed away on December 12^th 2022, at Meadowbrook Medical Facility after a long, strenuous battle with COPD with her daughter Kristy at her bedside.  

Lynda, an only child, was born July 17, 1939 to Lawrence and Ruth Powell. Lynda grew up in the downriver area of Michigan. She attended Wyandotte Roosevelt High School where she met her husband, Fred Schrock. On September 19, 1959, she and Fred married and made their lives in Wyandotte. Lynda and Fred loved dancing, regularly attended dancing socials and spent many hours at home practicing to their favorite albums. Many nights the house was filled with music of the Rat Pack, Sinatra, or Dean Martin. They enjoyed spending time with friends playing cards and BBQs. They loved trips ‘up north’, nature, sightseeing and fishing and dreamed of someday being able to spend their retirement days in northern Michigan. After many years of searching, they found property in Bellaire where they built their retirement home. Lynda and Fred shared their dream for a short time together before Fred’s passing. Lynda remained in their Bellaire home for many happy years.

While in Meadowbrook she received tremendous loving care from the staff in Glacier Hills house and was always happy to see Scout the house dog. She loved fishing at the pond, but especially treasured visits from loved ones.

Lynda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Schrock, and her parents. Lynda leaves behind her beloved husky rescue Katie, who now lives with daughter Kristy. Surviving Lynda are her four children, Kristy (Dave) Nichols of Bellaire, Michigan, Fred (Mary) Schrock of Missouri, Kathy (Mark) Gore, of North Carolina and Laurie (Ernie) Fisher, Michigan, 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

A private service will take place to unite Fred and Lynda in a final resting place in Bellaire.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Antrim County Animal Shelter.
