Lyle Paugels

Lyle R. Paugels, 82 of Mancelona, died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born July 7, 1926, in Evanston, IL, the son of Walter and Lucille (Grabowski) Paugels. On August 13, 1977 in Mancelona, Lyle married Mada Cunningham who survives. Also surviving are 5 children: Mary (Brandon) Schauer, Wally Fuson, Larry Fusion, Joni Goen, Bud Fuson, Candy (Harold) Kiel, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, cousins, in-laws, and many friends he considered family too. Lyle loved to spend time with his loved and loved to be in his garden. He always had a plan for business of any kind. He had the nickname "Smiley" and wore it well as a clown for Bass Fest for 30 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He had a huge heart and will truly be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and his grandson Phillip Kiel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 4, 2008 at One p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Yousef Jabara officiating. The family will receive friends from Eleven a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Excelsior Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
