Lucy T. Biel, 88, of Bellaire, passed away on February 13, 2015 at home. Lucy was born on April 6, 1926, in Detroit, the daughter of Joseph and Wanda (Rozmierska) Lipin. Lucy was a police officer for the City of Detroit for several years and was a substitute teacher. She resided in Deckerville and Oak Park for many years prior to moving to Bellaire in 2011. She enjoyed reading, walking , baking pies and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire and was an active member of various churches throughout the years. On August 19, 1950, in Detroit, she married Alfred J. Biel who survives. Also surviving are four children, Beverly (Don) Pierce of Findlay, OH, Sandra (Jack) Harmon of Bellaire, John Biel of Royal Oak, MI, Brenda (Rob) Russillo of Smyrna, DE, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Peter Lipin, a sister Mary Samborski as well as her parents. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, February 19 at 12 noon at St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire. Fr. James Gardiner will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Eldred Cemetery, Kearney Township.
