Lucile Sandeen

Lucile Evelyn (Shisler) Sandeen, 88, of Mancelona, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Lucy was born on July 6, 1926 to Lew and Eunice Evelyn (Gates) Shisler who preceded her in death along with her 2 sisters Mary Adams, Emilie Pernell, a brother Nelson (Gus) Shisler, her husband Robert Sandeen as well as her son David Sandeen. Surviving are daughters, Ellen (Robert) Peterson of Kentwood, MI, Doris Felton (John) of Alden, Clark (Loretta) Sandeen of Fife Lake, Barb (Earl) Bud Castle of Bellaire, Earl Sandeen of Kentwood, MI, daughter-in-law Robin Sandeen of Mancelona, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lucy worked at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility, Mancelona Ambulance and the Mancelona School system as a Librarian. She belonged to Torch Lake Grange 1840 for 76 years and was a 4-H Leader for 60 years. She was a long time member of the Mancelona United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet and embroider as well as playing bingo. Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mancelona United Methodist Church. Pastor Todd Shafer will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 9 from 4-8 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. A luncheon will follow services in the Mancelona United Methodist Church basement.
