Louise Riedy

Louise E. Riedy, 97, of Bellaire, passed away on April 13, 2017 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Louise was born on January 19, 1920, in North Adams, MI, the daughter of Parker and Gladys (Ferguson) Shepard. Louise was a long time member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire and was active in the Antrim County Commission on Aging. In earlier years, she was employed by General Motors, the United States Department of Defense and the Catholic Social Services in Lansing which was the Catholic Adoption Agency. On May 1, 1947, in Detroit, she married Raymond Riedy who preceded her in death in 1988. Also preceding her in death were a brother Wendell Shepard and her parents. She is survived by a son Mark (Lynne) Riedy of Bellaire, two grandsons, Brad (Claudia) Riedy of Thompsonville, MI, and Brian (Alyssa) Riedy of Silver Spring, MD. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, April 18, 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire. Fr. Chet Collins will officiate. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire. Visitation will be on Monday from 5-8 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
