Louise Gravelle

Louise Agnes Gravelle, 80, of Mancelona, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City with her family at her side.  She was born on June 1, 1942 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Louis and Isabelle (Dainauskas) Pavlichek.

Louise and her husband Donald moved their family to Mancelona from Detroit in 1973.  She raised their family of five children while he continued to work in the Detroit area until his retirement.  She somehow still found the time to work several different jobs over the years; Northland Foods, AT&T, and Shanty Creek to name a few.  In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and canning, playing euchre and bingo, and spent much of her time volunteering at the senior center in Kalkaska.

Louise is survived by five children, Pamela and Rick Thompson, Sandra and Robert Watson, Janene Gravelle, Marlene Sue Gravelle, and Louis and Jessica Gravelle; four brothers, Dennis and Pat Pavlichek, Michael and Pam Pavlichek, Thomas Pavlichek, and Stephen and Angela Pavlichek; two sisters, Susan and Daryl Hendricks, Donna and Robert Yambasky; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Gravelle; her parents; and her sister, FranceBudde.

A celebration of Louise’s life will take place on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 12pm- 4pm at the American Legion Post, 9850 South Front St., Mancelona, MI 49659.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Kalkaska Senior Center.
