Louis F. Warner, age 92, longtime Charlevoix resident, returned home to be with the Lord on November 22, 2017.
Louis was born in Albion, MI on March 6, 1925, the son of the late Nile W. and Jessie B. Warner. Louis grew up on the family farm in East Eckford Twp. He attended Albion Schools and graduated from Michigan State College in 1948.
Louis was married to the love of his life, Lois Marie Bascom on January 28, 1956. They moved to Charlevoix in 1958 where they raised three daughters. Louis worked for East Jordan Iron Works for 29 years and retired in 1987.
Louis was a passionate woodworker and wood carver. He enjoyed repairing antique clocks, ham radio, weaving and technology. His love of life and his zest for learning were keys to his longevity and these traits were passed on to his loving family.
He is survived by his daughters, Margaret (Jack) Kronberg, Lori (Doug) Martinchek, Terri (Doug) Lecander; grandchildren, Nick and Jason Martinchek, Jessie (Andy) Riley, Ben (Carrie) Kronberg, Kevin, Anneka and Hannah Lecander; great-grandchildren, Jackson Louis Riley and Autumn Lois Martinchek; sister, Frances Ray and many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois M. Warner; twin brother, Frederick Charles; brother, Roger; half-brother, Arthur; sister, Phylis Metzgar and his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 2, 2017 at 3:30 pm at the Charlevoix United Methodists Church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Charlevoix Public Library's Large Print Collection.
