Lorraine Loveland

Lorraine Janis Loveland, 77, of Bellaire, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2020.  She was born on April 8, 1942 in Howell, MI, the daughter of Harold and Clyda (Williams) Hierlihy.

Lorraine graduated from the McPherson College of Nursing with her LPN, and immediately went to work at the University of Michigan Emergency Room.  She then worked at the McPherson Hospital Emergency room before finishing her career as a nurse in homecare.  In 2014, she moved to Bellaire to live on a farm that has been in her family for over 100 years.

Lorraine loved animals: dogs, cats, turkeys, ducks, you name it, she loved them all.  She also enjoyed watching Little House on the Prairie, Gunsmoke, and other old western shows.  She will be remembered as an extremely giving woman.

Lorraine is survived by two children; Laura (Tom) Rogers of Central Lake, and Jeff Loveland (Kathy Drew) of Bellaire; and seven grandchildren, Megan (Jason) Barnett, Marcus Rogers, Lauren (Dylan) Buffman, Joshua Paul, Temperance (SQ) Roquemore, Jeffrey Loveland, David Loveland, and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Clyda Hierlihy; her brother, Mark Hierlihy; and her son, David Loveland.

A memorial service will be announced in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Antrim County Animal Shelter.

Arrangements are in the care of the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  Please sign her online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com
