Lorna Putman

Lorna M. Putman, 95, of Mancelona, passed away April 1, 2013 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Lorna was born September 27, 1917 in Frankenmuth, the daughter of August and Anna Schmidtke. Lorna and her husband Hank lived in Ann Arbor many years and were active in the Zion Lutheran Church. They moved to Mancelona in 1997 and attended the Kalkaska Lutheran Church and then the Mancelona Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, bowling and her dogs. She is survived by three loving daughters, Jeannie (Ted) Smith of Florida, Virginia Hiser of Bellaire and Marjorie (Fred) Buhland of Elmira; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, parents, 3 sisters, Dorothy, Isabelle and Olga and 1 brother, Ralph. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the times of services at 11:30 a.m. also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility, 4543 S.
