Lloyd F. "Pete" Webster, 92, of Bellaire, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 8, 2010 at Meadow Brook. Pete was born in Jennings, Michigan on October 6, 1918, the son of the late J.D. and Emma (Derror) Webster. In Pete's younger days he was a track star. He was a state champion in the 100 yard dash and loved sports. He was truly an athlete. He was also a Golden Gloves flyweight champion in 1938. He retired from Dura in 1979 as he lived in Mancelona most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and staying in Ocala Florida for the winters with his wife. Pete enjoyed being involved in the community as he was a Boy Scouts Leader for several years. He was the clown for the Bass Festival with a good friend, Lyle Paugels. He loved playing his harmonica and entertaining the staff and his friends at Meadow Brook where he resided since 2007. Pete simply loved life and was always smiling. Most importantly, he loved the Lord. On September 12, 1980, he married Elizabeth (Imel) Webster who survives. Also surviving are 2 children, Terry (Bonnie) Webster of Allenton, and Lisa of Webster of Wickett, TX, 3 step-children Connie (Don) Goodno of Cadillac, Michael (LouAnne) Ottgen of Sheridan, Sandy (Lonne) Hill of Bellaire, a special daughter-in-law LouAnne Webster of Mancelona, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Webster in 2009, and several siblings. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration Of Life Service will be on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Meadow Brook with Pastor Tim Manzer officiating.
