Lloyd E. Kingsbury Jr., 86, of Echo Twp., died peacefully, Tues. Jan. 29, 2013 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. He was born Nov. 1, 1926, in Berkley, the oldest son of Lloyd and Rhoda (Myers) Kingsbury Sr. In 1946, he married the love of his life, Freida Pepper. Together they owned and operated Kingsbury Haven on Six Mile Lake starting in 1975. They moved permanently up north after his retirement from Ford Motor Company, in 1991. Lloyd loved to work in his workshop and enjoyed fixing and tinkering with things. He also enjoyed fishing in his younger days. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, his daughter Cheryl Demusky of Charlevoix, grandson Kipp Demusky of Central Lake, siblings Marianne (Larry) Phillips of AZ, Donald (Doris) Kingsbury of Roscommon, Richard (Joyce) Kingsbury of Harrison, Virginia (Bob) Milsphaugh of Harrison, Judy ( Dennis) Parker, of CA, great granddaughter Julia Demusky of Central Lake, special in-laws Mary (Steve) Carpenter of Central Lake, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sat. Feb. 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends from Noon until the time of service.
