Lloyd G. Berriman Sr., 93, of Bellaire, passed away on August 30, 2013 at his home. Lloyd was born on December 12, 1919, the son of Peter and Ann (Stevens) Berriman. Lloyd grew up in Calumet, MI., in the Upper Peninsula, then went on to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed by the Burroughs Corporation for 32 years and was a long time California resident until moving to Bellaire 3 years ago. He loved to golf, bowl, walk his dog and cat and was known as the "Whistling neighbor". He is survived by 3 children, Janet (Preston) Murray of Bellaire, Lloyd Jr.(Linda) Berriman of Porter Ranch, CA., Kathy (Tom) Pratley of Bellaire, 3 grandchildren, Damon Murray, Rachel Pratley and Trevor Berriman, nieces Judy Taylor and Bonnie Stern as well as others. He was preceded in death by his wife Grace, several siblings as well as his parents. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Gary Bekkering will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment with military honors will be on Monday, September 9 at 11:00 in Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Antrim County Humane Society or to Northwest Michigan Hospice. Arrangements are being handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
