Linda Lou (Harlan) Mosketti, 79 of Mancelona passed at home, Sunday, November 13, surrounded by family. She was born March 20, 1943 in Zanesville, Ohio and moved with her family to Mancelona, Michigan later that year.
Linda graduated from Mancelona High School in 1961. She was a percussionist all through high school and was awarded scholarships to the Interlochen Arts Academy for two consecutive summers. Linda excelled in math and after moving to Grand Rapids she attended college majoring in accounting. She worked for Profit Foods and Mosher Brothers before accepting a position at Blue Cross-Blue Shield. After 23 years of service with BC-BS, retirement took her back to Mancelona.
She kept busy visiting with family and friends. Linda met weekly with her group of lady friends for lunch and card games. She regularly attended live performances and concerts in Grand Rapids, and loved country music before country was cool!! Linda took several trips offered by the Senior Citizens Center. She was very involved with the Mancelona Historical Society and Museum. She was an avid reader, loved Christmas and showered family and friends with her homemade Christmas cookies and candy. Linda would stay glued to the TV whenever her teams, the Lions or the Tigers, were playing. She also loved watching tennis and golf.
Linda had so many wonderful attributes but ranking at the top of the list was her love and loyalty to family and friends, her kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. She was always so much fun and could make us laugh out loud with some of her expressions. Linda and younger sister Betsy combined households after Betsy’s spouse passed and enjoyed life together at the top of the hill for two years prior to her death. To say our sister will be missed is an understatement.
Linda is survived by three sisters and two brothers; Margaret (Ron) Tiller, Church (Letty) Harlan, Mary Jo (Dale) Fleet Dent, Betsy (Marvin, deceased) Batterbee, Bob (Shelly) Derrer. Also surviving are ten nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona with Pastor Nancy Grody officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Antrim County Commission on Aging.
Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign his online guestbook www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com.
